# Get Message Status

> Retrieve the delivery status and details of a WhatsApp message.

## Request Headers

**Authorization** `string` *required*

Bearer token. Format: `Bearer nc_live_your_api_key`

## Path Parameters

**message\_id** `string` *required*

The `message_id` returned when the message was sent.

## Response

**message\_id** `string`

Unique message identifier.

**account\_id** `string`

Your account ID.

**to** `string`

Recipient phone number (E.164).

**type** `string`

Message type that was sent.

**status** `string`

Current status: `queued`, `scheduled`, `sent`, `delivered`, `read`, or `failed`.

**wa\_message\_id** `string`

Meta's WhatsApp message ID (set after delivery).

**error\_message** `string`

Error details if status is `failed`.

**callback\_url** `string`

Webhook URL configured for this message.

**schedule\_at** `string`

Scheduled delivery time (if applicable).

**tags** `string[]`

Tags associated with the message.

**metadata** `object`

Custom metadata key-value pairs.

**created\_at** `string`

When the message was created.

**sent\_at** `string`

When the message was sent to WhatsApp (null if pending).
